Robin D. Richards of Blackboard Connect

Robin Richards is known as an internet pioneer and leader. He successfully created and sold his company to Blackboard Connect where he proved successful in leading the combined company. He has also served as the CEO of Vivendi Universal Net USA, which oversees Intent-related companies for the huge Vivendi Universal. He was also the founding president and COO of MP3.com and negotiated one of the largest IPO's during the tech boom of the late 1990's. Richard has also served as managing director of Tickets.com, Inc, which he successfully sold to Advantex. He is now the Advisor to the CEO at Blackboard Connect. |

Please join us this Thursday, October 9th, for the Business Networking Night co-hosted by the USC Entrepreneur Club and Alpha Kappa Psi. This event is focused on sharing past experiences and wisdom as well as establishing meaningful connections to aid each other in achieving career-oriented goals. We will start at 7:30PM at the AKPsi house located in the middle of the Row at 729 West 28th Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90007. The event will last until about 9:30, followed by a social event located nearby. Attire is Business Casual, so please dress accordingly. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. It is also recommended that you bring a notepad and pencil to the event.

TOMS Shoes
Thurs, October 16th at 7:00PM in VKC and Alumni Park
This Thursday at 7 pm, all the festivities are going down. There will be a screening of the award-winning documentary directed by Ken Kokin, a former USC Alumni who co-produced The Usual Suspects, pairs of TOMS shoes will be sold, and materials to customize your own shoe will be provided. Also for each pair of shoes sold, a pair will be given to a child who does not have shoes, so come get a some fresh, new kicks and help out an impoverished child in a 3rd world country. It will be held in VKC and Alumni Park. There will be free food and refreshments and it is open to EVERYONE, so bring your appetite and all your friends!
TOMS Shoes was born out of a trip to Argentina, where Blake Mycoskie witnessed impoverished children walking the streets without footwear. Inspired by a local type of shoe, Blake brought an Argentinean style back home with the promise that for every shoe sold in America, he’d send one pair of shoes to Argentina.

CEO of NetZero and United Online, Mark Goldston

You have probably seen Mark in the NetZero commercials on television. Mark Goldston is the chairman, president, and CEO of United Online, Inc., the number-two dialup Internet service provider in the U.S. and he is coming to speak at USC on Tuesday, November 4th.
Mark knows what it takes to be a successful leader and he is coming to share his experiences and wisdom. Throughout his career, he has held numerous executive positions in a variety of businesses and industries in addition to his tenure at NetZero and United Online. Some of these positions include:
- Chief Marketing Officer of Reebok
- President of Faberge USA, Inc.
- Vice President of Marketing Worldwide at Revlon
- Principal of Odyssey Partners, L.P., a private equity firm
- Chairman and CEO of The Goldston Group, a strategic advisory firm

Alumni Networking Event in Downtown

The USC Entrepreneur Club is hosting our Alumni Networking Event at the beautiful Bonaventure Brewing Company in Downtown Los Angeles on Wed, November 5th. This will give you the chance to network with current students and alumni of USC while enjoying yourself at a great venue.
You can indulge in delicious appetizers, enjoy fine wine, and sip on cocktails while you meet new people and expand your network. Be sure to mark your calendar! It is going to be a fun and enjoyable evening.
The dress is business casual so come dressed to impress. Be sure to bring your business cards if you have them.
There will be free transportation available to the Bonaventure Brewing Co. from USC. We will be providing buses in front of New North (at Gate 3) from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.
